Muse by Robert Po
9”x12” Acrylic on Board
I made this for my Western Art History class as a summary and application of my learnings. It plays on the word “muse” and its meanings, while also exploring the potential of a pop star, like Lady Gaga, as the subject of art (in relation to how it has evolved in different art movements.) The style and methods I used take inspiration from multiple artists; overall inclined towards the Baroque, Neoclassical, and Romantic periods.

Anatomy # 02
Gaga’s meat dress at the VMAs in 2009 and custom Mugler ensemble at CFDA Awards in 2011 recreated in digital 3D.
After developing a digital clone of Gaga that I’m fairly satisfied with, I figured I’d move on to recreating some stuff she has worn in the past. I’ve only finished these two so far but I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.
